Austin Knott
STaff Therapist, LCSW

(Pronouns: She/Her/Hers)

I’m Austin, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes working with kids, teens, and young adults. With a deep commitment to support clients through life’s challenges, I specialize in helping those grappling with life transitions, stress, anxiety, depression, self esteem and relationship difficulties. I also have experience working with fellow therapists as I am aware of the unique challenges that people in helping professions face.

Prior to beginning my work at Hartman Counseling + Consulting, I earned my Bachelors of Social Work from the University of Iowa and my Masters of Social Work from the University of Chicago. I have worked in a number of different clinical settings including community mental health focusing on trauma informed therapy for kids and adolescents and private practice providing individual therapy to kids, teens and adults.

My approach is characterized by warmth, compassion, authenticity, and a touch of humor, creating a safe and welcoming space where my clients can explore their thoughts and feelings openly. I believe in the power of building strong therapeutic relationships based on trust and understanding, empowering my clients to discover their strengths and resilience. I utilize a range of evidence based techniques including motivational interviewing, psycho-dynamic, strengths based and play therapy.

I have a genuine passion for helping others shine through in the work we do, making myself a trusted ally for anyone seeking support on their journey toward mental health and personal fulfillment and growth.
